Shaping the public debate on multi-modal transportation issues and building a network of transportation professionals
About us
Eno is an independent nonprofit that shapes public debate on critical multimodal transportation issues and builds a network of innovative and diverse transportation professionals. Eno has a long and proud history as an educator and thought leader on multimodal transportation issues. Founded in 1921 by traffic regulation pioneer William Phelps Eno, government and industry leaders rely on Eno for timely research and an independent voice on policy issues. Throughout Mr. Eno’s life, he emphasized the importance of education and training. Our professional development programs come from a legacy of building leadership skills within the transportation industry. Eno is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.

Today, our team is kicking off the 2025 Eno/MAX and AirMAX programs! The MAX (Multi-Agency Exchange) program began in 2012 as a bold experiment among three transit agencies, designed to encourage and facilitate information sharing. Eno joined the effort in 2017, bringing our expertise in convening and collaboration—and since then, the MAX programs have truly taken off (literally). In 2024, AirMAX launched to spark the same exchange of ideas and best practices among major metropolitan airports, and we’re thrilled to welcome our newest participant for 2025: Philadelphia International Airport. Here’s the full list of agencies and airports participating in 2025: Eno/MAX: - Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) - DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) - Sound Transit - Los Angeles Metro - Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) - MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) - Pittsburgh Regional Transit AirMAX: - Denver International Airport - City & County of Denver Dept of Aviation - Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) - O'Hare & Midway International Airports - Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport - Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) We look back with pride on our 2024 participants—and all those who came before—and we’re excited to get to know the incoming class of 2025. We can’t wait to share more in the months ahead! In the meantime, learn more about Eno/MAX (https://lnkd.in/ghdjbm8Z) and AirMAX (https://lnkd.in/gERWHhdm) on our website, or reach out to us at pdpsupport@enotrans.org. And don’t miss the video below from the Charlotte Area Transit System, spotlighting their Eno/MAX class of 2024!

We're always proud to spotlight the incredible work our team does at Eno—but it's especially meaningful when we get to highlight the impact they're making in our community. Every Wednesday afternoon, our Senior Manager of Training & Professional Development, Kirstin A. Hall, mentors middle school students at a local DC school. Through this program, Kirstin helps students explore their educational goals and future aspirations, helping to build their confidence in what they can achieve. We’re proud of all the ways Kirstin contributes to Eno—and even prouder of the difference she’s making beyond our walls. Way to go, Kirstin!
Higher Achievement mentor Kirstin A. Hall has witnessed just how transformative the middle school years can be. “I love seeing them start to lean in and get excited and connect the dots between their interests and their future.” says Kirstin. Conversations between Kirstin and her scholars explore the possibilities for high school, college, and career. “I’m already thinking about how to motivate and inspire them. I went to an HBCU myself...But it’s less about the school and more about the potential of college.” Kirstin knows that mentoring isn’t just about academic guidance—it’s about being a source of encouragement. “Aside from family, a mentor can offer a different point of view or perspective. We all have different life experiences, so mentors are someone else who can see a scholar’s strengths and weaknesses, cares for them deeply, and advocates for them. Often young kids don’t feel like they have the capacity or autonomy to advocate for themselves, and a mentor can help give them confidence or a push. A mentor is someone who can meet them at their level and doesn’t judge.” Mentors like Kirstin believe in our scholars’ limitless potential. Your support—as a mentor or donor—gives scholars access to opportunities that bring their big dreams to life. https://lnkd.in/eggGQMNW #50Daysfor50Years #HigherAchievement50
